Annual pet expo set for Saturday in Osage Beach
Attention pet owners: The third annual Big Dogs Pet Expo will take place at the Osage Beach Premium Outlet Mall Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the plaza in front of Big Dog Sportswear.
The highlight of the event is a pet contest with prizes awarded for several categories, including the cutest, ugliest, largest, smallest, longest tail, shortest tail, best dressed, best trick, most obedient, owner/pet look-a-like, most photogenic and best kisser.
There is a $5 registration fee for each pet. Proceeds will be donated to selected local animal shelters.
Participants will receive a photo for their pet along with a doggie bag containing a special treat and coupons for many of the outlet stores.
Vendors specializing in pet care and pet services also will be on hand to show the latest in pet pampering.
A variety of pets will be available for adoption during the event, courtesy of the Dogwood Animal Shelter, S.T.A.F.F. and Friends of Animals Humane Society.
